Awaken the B.E.A.U.T.Y Within

“TAKE A MOMENT to consider the word beauty. What comes to mind? Is it the physical expression of beauty? Does having long, thick hair and a clear complexion make you beautiful? Is the image of a celebrity in an Oscars gown beautiful?

To me, beauty goes beyond all I can see superficially. After a career in the beauty industry and a lifelong fascination with beauty, I’ve come to see how easy it is to gloss over what is truly beautiful. How we so easily favor an external definition of beauty without looking deeper at what the true meaning of beauty really is.

This became even more evident to me when I entered the fields of social work and psychology. Over the past fifteen years, I have counseled and coached thousands of women to facilitate massive transformations in their lives. I’ve helped women cope with stress, heal emotional pain, develop a healthy self-image, and move towards greater self-love. I have observed the deeply rooted impact of a tainted definition of beauty; a definition derived from our parents, the media, and society. It’s a definition that leaves us feeling less than. We cannot measure up. This is one of the greatest scams of our time, and is precisely why I’ve written this book. We need to change our perception of beauty.

It starts within. The minute I began to define beauty in completely different terms than just physical, my eyes opened to the real beauty surrounding us. I was able to see the radiance in myself, and in those around me. I could also see how this transition allowed me to feel beautiful on the inside and out. I knew, as women, we had to deepen the conversation. Beauty is not just what we see. It is also how we feel.

If you picked up this book thinking you’ll get makeup application tips or tricks for shinier hair, be forewarned. This book is about something much deeper, something much more important.  And, keep reading, because this book is definitely for you.”
